The team of lecturers from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Undip, supports increasing the potential of inland fisheries in Wonosobo Regency. Undip teaching staff consisting of Prof. Dr. Fronthea Swastawati, Slamet Suharto, and Romadhon held business community service activities to increase fishery productivity.
According to Prof Fronthea, the area is an area with great inland fishery potential. Its strategic geographical location saves abundant reserves of water sources. "Abundant water sources can be used to develop fish cultivation so as to increase family income," said the Undip Fisheries Product Technology (THP) lecturer at SMK 1 Wadaslintang. He and his team of lecturers held a meeting with the school administrator. The lecturers provide assistance, especially for the processing mechanism of fish caught products.
There are several products that have been produced by students from the use of fish spines as snacks, shredded pastels, and shredded fish. However, changes still need to be made so that student products can be known more widely. The Undip team also provided stoves and oven heaters to support schools. This equipment is expected to provide great benefits. In addition, they provide socialization about good fish processing and how the marketing of processed products can be accepted by wider consumers. The Wadaslintang area also has a large reservoir that has been widely used for power generation, water transportation and tilapia cultivation using floating net cages.
