The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, claims that many investors are interested in investing in the National Capital Development Project (IKN) of the Archipelago. The government is also currently preparing technical regulations related to guidelines for investing in the candidate for the national capital, which is located in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. "Many investors have asked and maybe we will meet soon," said Suharso after a limited meeting regarding the acceleration of IKN development at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (13/6/2022). Suharso was reluctant to specify which parties were interested in becoming investors. He only mentioned that according to President Joko Widodo's instructions, the government would immediately complete the investment guidelines in IKN. This regulation is needed to strengthen funding provisions in the national capital. "So the president has directed us and in the next two weeks hopefully all the regulations will be completed," he said. As the president has also conveyed, continued Suharso, the IKN project financing is sought not to burden the state budget (APBN).
IKN funding will provide the widest opportunity for the private sector to participate. "First, the incentives and disincentives will be set. So that is what will be done in the next two weeks. What are we preparing for that, both in terms of fiscal incentives and non-fiscal incentives, "Said Suharso. In addition to investment matters, continued Suharso, the meeting with the president also discussed the land sector in IKN. The government is currently drafting a government regulation (PP) regarding this matter. The PP will later regulate the issue of special authority related to land. The government seeks to ensure that land owners in IKN are not only entitled to a building use right certificate, but also a property right certificate. "So that the wider community can also own a house, can own a home property," he said. Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan also said that many investors were interested in participating in the IKN development project. He also emphasized that the commitment of funds for the project is sufficient. "There are a lot of (investors). There is enough (funding commitment)," he said after attending a limited meeting on IKN at the Presidential Palace complex, Monday.
