Prime, Indonesia Exports Roasted Peanuts to Canada Worth IDR 606.9 Million

Indonesian snacks again penetrate the international market. The Ministry of Trade through the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Vancouver inspected the first arrival of a container of roasted peanut snack products in Vancouver, Canada. The total transaction value is more than USD 42 thousand, or around Rp. 606.9 million (exchange rate of Rp. 14,450 per US dollar). "Indonesian snacks have been able to penetrate the Canadian market. This success story is expected to boost Indonesia's non-oil and gas export performance, as well as become positive energy for other Indonesian products to enter the Canadian market," said Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi in a written statement, Wednesday (8/6/2022). The Indonesian Consul General in Vancover Hendra Halim stated, with appropriate and consistent promotions, Indonesian products have the potential and advantages to compete with similar products and increase their market share in Canada.


Hendra hopes that the realization of the export of snack products to Canada is also an effort to make Indonesian products more widely known. In addition, improving the image and competitiveness in competing with competing products that have previously entered and dominated the Canadian market. Through the entrance to the north coast route, PT Garuda Food Putra Putri Jaya succeeded in exporting five types of roasted nuts as much as 10.26 tons. The types of roasted peanuts are sweet coated peanuts, hot and spicy roasted peanuts, garlic roasted peanuts, roasted peanuts, and egg coated peanuts.
