The Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) for the Region of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, encourages Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to export ornamental fish to Timor Leste, which is directly adjacent to Indonesia on Timor Island. "Through KPPBC (Office of Supervision and Customs Services) Atambua together with KIPM (Fish Quarantine and Quality Control) Kupang, we have provided assistance to MSME actors regarding the mechanism and licensing of ornamental fish exports to Timor Leste in the region," said the Head of the Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Regions of Bali, NTB, NTT, Susila Brata in a statement received in Kupang, Wednesday. He said this was related to the support of the Ministry of Finance's Directorate General of Customs and Excise for MSMEs in NTT to increase product marketing abroad. Ornamental fish commodity, he said, is one of the potential products that can be marketed to answer market demand in Timor Leste. Therefore, his party is here to provide support for MSME actors through an assistance process to provide an understanding of the export mechanism and so on.
"This export opportunity is very open, especially since export/import activities through PLBN (Border Crossing Posts) on Timor Island can be carried out every day," he said. Susila Brata said that his party continues to provide support for MSME actors in NTT so that they can advance to class by marketing their products abroad in order to encourage regional economic growth and improve people's welfare. Previously, his party was also invited by the Indonesian Ambassador in Dili to hold a meeting with related parties in the Bobonaro District of Timor Leste to discuss trade cooperation. "We want trade cooperation to promote MSMEs, especially areas in NTT that are around state borders," he said.
