Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno together with the Indonesia Setara Foundation initiated by Rumah Sandiuno Indonesia (RSI) held a batik training at the Roudlotul Muta'alimin Islamic Boarding School, Banyuwangi, East Java. This activity aims to improve the quality of people who have excellence in batik. Minister Sandiaga wants batik products in Banyuwangi to be competitive in the eyes of tourists. "We see a lot of women who have advantages in batik, we are preparing this because Banyuwangi will soon rise again, so this must be built so that it has competitiveness and becomes tourist souvenirs," said Sandiaga in his statement, Tuesday (7/6). /2022). He said that after the training there would be assistance, and assistance in marketing and licensing. This is done as an effort to stimulate the community's economy. "They seem very enthusiastic about developing the batik industry, so we will provide assistance after this, we will help with marketing, after that we will help with licensing," said Sandiaga.
Meanwhile, the head of the Roudlotul Muta'alimin Islamic Boarding School, Gusdur Muzi Muftadi Asimbari, wants this training to continue to be fostered so that it can stimulate the creativity of the community and students. "With this batik training as a movement or creativity, so that this batik can continue to be educated and fostered," said Gusdur. He explained that later the training that had been held would be taught back to the surrounding community or students. He hopes that these activities can continue to be carried out so that they can increase the economy in Islamic boarding schools. "It will be taught back to santri or to the public, of course it can improve the economy here, now the boarding school teaches to live independently. So not only reading the yellow book, but also being able to trade or produce," said Gusdur.
