Investment Realization Prints a Record 10 Years, Jakarta Special Region (DKI) Overtakes West Java

The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) noted that the realization of investment in the first quarter of 2022 reached IDR 282.4 trillion, or grew 28.5% on an annual basis (year-on-year / yoy). The realization of this investment worth a total of IDR 282.4 trillion consists of Foreign Investment (PMA) of IDR 147.2 trillion and Domestic Investment (PMDN) of IDR 135.2 trillion. If viewed based on the combined investment location of PMA and PMDN, the first position of investment realization in the first quarter of 2022 was occupied by DKI Jakarta amounting to IDR 40.4 trillion, followed by West Java IDR 39.5 trillion, Riau IDR 23.7 trillion, East Java IDR 23.6 trillion and Central Sulawesi amounting to IDR 20.0 trillion. If you look at FDI alone, Central Sulawesi is in first position with realized investment of IDR 18.9 trillion, followed by West Java of IDR 18.3 trillion, DKI Jakarta of IDR 17.4 trillion, Riau of IDR 14.6 trillion and North Maluku of IDR 10.8 trillion. "Well for PMA, West Java is better than DKI Jakarta. For international lobby investment, West Java is more patented than DKI for the first quarter," said Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. For PMDN, investment realization for the January–March 2022 period is spread across the DKI Jakarta area of IDR 22.9 trillion, West Java of IDR 21.2 trillion, East Java of IDR 15.4 trillion, East Kalimantan of IDR 10.2 trillion and Riau of IDR 9.1 trillion. Then by region, the highest realization of PMDN in the first quarter of this year was in the Java region at IDR 72.88.4 billion, followed by Sumatra IDR 33,721.5 billion, Kalimantan IDR 19,402.3 billion, Bali and Nusa Tenggara IDR 4,992, 1 billion, Sulawesi IDR 3,536.6 billion, and the Maluku and Papua regions IDR 642.9 billion. Meanwhile, the highest realization of FDI was in Java with USD 4,236.5 million, followed by Sumatra with USD 2,060.1 million, Sulawesi with USD 1,966.7 million, Maluku and Papua with USD 1,095.8 million, Kalimantan with USD 673.6 million and other areas Bali and Nusa Tenggara amounted to USD 226.3 million.
