The industrial area, which is located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in western Indonesia, especially Java Island, is still a favorite for investors to invest their capital in. Director of Industrial & Logistics Services Colliers Indonesia, Rivan Munansa said SEZ located on the island of Java has great potential. "The industrial area in the SEZ is currently centered on the island of Java, especially in the western part. Investment in Java seems to have great potential," Rivan explained in a written statement received by Bisnis, Monday (25/04/2022).
SEZ operations in Java and other regions can encourage regional development and economic growth as well as improve Indonesia's investment climate. Most of the SEZ industrial activities, which are located on the island of Java, are the automotive and metal industries. Meanwhile, SEZs involving the energy, petrochemical and chemical industries are usually located on the islands of Sumatra and Java. As for SEZs with logistics business activities, they are spread in almost all parts of Indonesia, namely, in Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and Papua. According to Rivan, investing in SEZs will be profitable for investors, especially because of the incentives provided by the government.
“The incentives provided by the government for investors are profits. Attractive incentives, aimed at encouraging and creating climate-friendly investments, especially for foreign investors,” concluded Rivan.
