Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan emphasized that even Indonesia is a good country for foreign investors. Luhut, said that Indonesia is often underestimated and even not considered as having no superiority and greatness by other countries. "Sometimes they (other countries) don't think of us. We are considered an unknown country. So when I say in the media that banana republic is true," said Coordinating Minister Luhut while giving a public lecture at the University of Indonesia Convention Center area. Tuesday (12/4/2022).
Coordinating Minister Luhut emphasized to a number of countries that the Government continues to intensively innovate and improve and hopes that Indonesia can turn into a developed country. "I said, hey, we are not a banana republic, we are a good country, we are a great country, look at the economic data, I will show them the data," he said.

"Come on, tell me which other country is good, like us, with a population of 280 million people," he added. Luhut assessed that ahead of the G-20 Presidency in Indonesia, Indonesia must play an important role in the development of the world economy. "In overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia has shown that we can solve the most complex problems as long as we work together and use science, technology and data as the basis for policy," Luhut concluded.
