Meanwhile, Head of the Agriculture and Fisheries Service (Distankan) Rejang Lebong Zulkarnain, in a separate location, said that the area of the community's palm plantations currently reaches 2,279 hectares. Of that amount, 1,868 hectares have produced, then 289 hectares have not yet produced and 123 hectares are not producing anymore because they have been damaged. "There are four sugar palm plantation centers in Rejang Lebong Regency, namely Selupu Rejang, Central Curup, Sindang Kelingi and Binduriang Districts," he said. Apart from growing in the four sub-districts, this plant is also found in 10 other sub-districts, but the area is not too wide. Meanwhile, another sub-district, namely Curup, does not have this plant because it is located in an urban area. The current sugar palm plant, he said, is the leading commodity of Rejang Lebong Regency after coffee and various vegetables. This commodity has considerable prospects for development considering that this plant does not require strict growing requirements and can be grown on marginal land. with the aim of the Philippines, so that it is not only limited to the coming of the fasting month of Ramadan," he said.
