The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy revealed that the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement in 2022 will focus on the realm of government procurement of goods and services. "Previously, it was focused on purchases by the public," said Deputy for the Digital Economy and Creative Products at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Muhammad Niel El Himam, in the Weekly Press Briefing, Jakarta, Monday. The hope, he continued, was that the procurement of goods and services produced domestically worth Rp500 trillion could be realized considering that 40 percent of the products made by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) must be absorbed by the government.
"This purchase is not only made by the central government, but also regional governments and state-owned enterprises," he said. To facilitate the absorption of domestic products, he continued, the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) provides an e-Catalog application that functions to display various MSME products. Niel said, the task of the government is to provide a list of goods needed from the central and regional levels. Regarding the proud tour program in Indonesia, he hopes that special tour packages such as meeting packages which include lodging, hotels and travel can be included in the e-catalog to make it easier for the government if they want to hold events. “Just open the e-Catalog and just click. The affairs are also very simple for the procurement of goods and services," he said. In the peak event of the Gernas BBI campaign in 2022 in Batam City, Riau Islands, Wednesday (30/3), Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno hopes that the program can boost sales of various MSME products and encourage the sector to enter the digital economy ecosystem.
As stated by President Joko Widodo, he continued, it was stated that Indonesia had a very big opportunity to increase the use of domestic MSME products. Based on the Proudly Made in Indonesia Affirmation Action program in Bali on Friday (25/3), it is said that there have been recorded Rp216.3 trillion in domestic product spending commitments, so it is expected to encourage national economic growth of 1.71%. He also ensured that he would encourage the creative industry and creative SMEs to join the online shop and e-catalog made by LKPP to be absorbed by the government. "Hopefully this year we can improve our economy, revive sectors in people's lives, we will open up business opportunities and job opportunities. Together with President Joko Widodo, we will structure Indonesia's new economy towards a golden, prosperous, just and prosperous Indonesia," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
