The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) advises farmers in Puse Village, South Dampal District, Tolitoli Regency, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) to take advantage of People's Business Credit (KUR) for the agricultural sector. This is intended to boost agricultural productivity in Tolitoli. Because, KUR Agriculture is considered to be able to support farmers in developing their agricultural cultivation from upstream to downstream. Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) explained, KUR agriculture is a program to strengthen the capital capacity of farmers in developing their agricultural cultivation.
"Agricultural KUR is also to support the national food security program in order to realize an advanced, independent, and modern agricultural sector," he said in a press release received by Kompas.com, Monday (28/3/2022). On the same occasion, the Director General (Dirjen) of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Jamil asked farmers to use KUR Agriculture to develop their agricultural cultivation. Agricultural KUR, he said, could be accessed for initial capital, purchasing subsidized fertilizers and developing agricultural cultivation from upstream to downstream.
"This large budget can be used by the community, especially those who have a high will and enthusiasm to work in the world of farming," added Ali. Furthermore, he revealed, the use of KUR can be done to support various agricultural activities. The agricultural activities in question start from the planting season, harvest, post-harvest, to packaging or packaging. According to Ali, KUR will be useful to increase the selling value of agricultural products. “We are trying to prevent farmers from selling their crops directly. However, it is processed again and packaged so that the selling value is high. KUR can support this,” he added. With the existence of KUR, continued Ali, farmers do not need to worry about capital. Because people's business credit can help fulfill this. Not only that, he said, farmers also don't have to worry about returning their capital. This is because KUR can be returned in installments or at harvest. "I am optimistic that through optimal use of KUR, the cultivation activities developed by farmers will run optimally," said Ali.
