The Covid-19 virus, which had paralyzed the economies of various countries, forced governments around the world to have to re-calibrate as a step for economic recovery. As stated by the Director General of Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance Luky Alfirman, the Covid-19 virus case which is starting to subside can be a focus for all countries for economic recovery. "If we see the number of cases continues to decline and I think now we can start to shift our focus to recovering the economy, but we must also be aware of the possibility of new variants," said Luky at the Indonesia PPP Day Plenary Session-Quality Infrastructure Investment for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth, Monday (28/3).
Luky said connectivity is very important for Indonesia in ensuring economic growth and currently infrastructure is still a homework as well as the biggest challenge. “In this case, we are helping an inclusive economy and infrastructure is a challenge for us as well as our biggest homework. And I am talking not only about traditional infrastructure such as airport road construction or electricity, but we are also talking about digital infrastructure,” he added. This is because infrastructure creates a large enough impact on the economy in Indonesia, especially in creating jobs and opening up business opportunities. So the Indonesian government's strategy is to utilize infrastructure development to stimulate the economy as part of the recovery plan after the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, large financial support is needed by inviting the private sector to support the infrastructure development agenda in Indonesia. “We need enormous financial support. We also realize that it is impossible for us to bear it ourselves. Therefore, we invite the private sector to support the infrastructure development agenda," he concluded.
