Customs and Excise encourage the competitiveness of export products in the regions to support the program to accelerate the national economic recovery (PEN). Customs and Excise continues to optimize performance and synergies with various related agencies. This time, the activity was carried out by customs in two regions, Yogyakarta and Merauke. To attract new exporters from the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector in the Yogyakarta area, on Friday (11/3) the Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag) collaborated with Customs and Excise to discuss the export class program. The Head of Foreign Trade at the DIY Industry and Trade Department, Intan Mestikaningrum, revealed that MSMEs have great export potential. He explained that the existence of this export class program is expected to enable MSMEs in DIY to be able to market their products internationally so that they are promoted to become exporters. Finally, Disperindag DIY, together with Customs and Excise, held an export class activity on March 14-18. This export class also presented speakers from various relevant agencies, such as the DIY Licensing and Investment Office (DPPM), GPEI, and exporters from MSMEs, banking, taxation, and courier service entrepreneurs (PJT). "In this activity, we convey the procedures for submitting and filling out documents for notification of export of goods (PEB) and export procedures to 27 MSMEs for processed food or beverages," said Hengky Aritonang, head of the Yogyakarta Customs Office. Previously, Yogyakarta Customs and Excise also had a joint audience with Garuda Indonesia on Wednesday (9/3). In addition to strengthening the synergy as working partners, this activity aims to encourage the role of Garuda Indonesia Yogyakarta in facilitating business actors. There are constraints on the limited flight routes that support direct exports from Yogyakarta, so they have to go through other areas, which results in high costs, "said Hengky. Garuda Indonesia Yogyakarta Krisna Dewi said his party played a role in increasing tourism and the economy in DIY. "We will support the exports of business actors in the Yogyakarta area through logistics or cargo shipping facilities that can be exported directly from YIA," he added. Next, Merauke Customs, through the Export Clinic Team, works the same as the Department of Cooperatives and Trade of the Asmat Regency Government. His party carried out the socialization of export management with the theme "Export is Easy for SMEs in Asmat Regency, (10/3)."
This is done to encourage the productivity of MSMEs in the Asmat Regency. Head of the Merauke Customs Office, Dian Kaban, said that through this socialization activity, his party is ready to encourage and provide the information needed by business actors in Asmat Regency. On March 14, 2022, Merauke Customs and Excise visited several agencies in Merauke Regency, such as the Merauke Regency Perindagkop and UKM Service. "We discussed efforts to increase state revenue through export activities, discussed challenges and export potential in Merauke Regency and strategic steps to achieve that," said Dian Kaban. It is hoped that these various customs and excise efforts can spur the enthusiasm of MSME players to penetrate the international market.
