Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Wamenparekraf) Angela Tanoesoedibjo said, amid the current uncertain situation, the creative economy sector will play an important role in accelerating recovery, especially through digital transformation. "The year 2022 will be a year of global recovery when many people learn to be more agile, proactive, and collaborate during an uncertain situation, and the creative economy sector will play an important role, especially through digital transformation," she said at the CONNECTI:CITY 2022 virtual event exclusively, Monday (14/3/2022). Wamenparekraf said, if technological innovation, combined with a person's talent, it will produce a big impact on the Indonesian economy. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has committed to the 2021 World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) Agenda for the development of a creative economy in the future that is supported by creativity and innovation. "This enthusiasm comes from the belief that the creative industry has ushered in a new era of business," she explained. On that occasion, Angela who is also the Chair of the Perindo Party DPP for the Digital & Creative Economy explained the 2021 WCCE Agenda.
This year's WCCE event aims to create a strong and creative economic ecosystem, support strong and creative Indonesian actors, and realize inclusive and sustainable economic growth. "The second initiative has been successfully implemented through the adoption of a UN resolution entitled 'International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development, (IYCE) 2021' at the 73rd UN general assembly," she said. This initiative proposal recognizes the need to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth, encourage innovation and provide opportunities, benefits, and empowerment for all and respect for all human rights. "It also identifies the continuing need to support developing countries and countries with economies in transition in diversified production and exports, including in new areas of sustainable growth, including creative industries," she concluded.
