He said the government continues to strive to make Tanjung Priok Port a logistics hub, and has shipping business partners who have extensive networks and are connected to other countries. That way, said Budi Karya, Indonesian products can explore and enter the global supply chain.
"We hope that shipping in Indonesia will continue to grow and contribute, especially in efforts to recover the national economy and support the smooth distribution of logistics to various countries," said Budi Karya. Budi Karya hopes that Meratus Line's initial export activities to China will be a good start and in the future the occupancy will be maximized and there will be more export destinations, such as Korea, Japan, Europe, America and Middle East countries. "The key is collaboration between the government, ports and shipping companies. We are ready to help with international lobbying. Because if we go our separate ways it will be difficult to compete with world players, but if we are united, other countries will appreciate it," said Budi Karya. Meanwhile, the CEO of PT. Meratus Line Farid Belbouab invites other business players to collaborate in engaging in joint export activities. "This new route is expected to open new prospects for a better future. President Director of PT. Pelindo Arif Suhartono added that the opening of the Indonesia-China route was the beginning of Indonesia's rise in improving logistics movements. "We hope that in the future we can collaborate with other shipping operators, both state-owned and private," said Arif. For information, the new China Indonesia Express (CIX) shipping route serves the Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya-Qingdao-Shanghai route, with a schedule of once every two weeks. This inaugural ship is also the first Indonesian-flagged ship to sail to China.
