To optimize the agenda of the G-20 Presidency, the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) in collaboration with the government's Public Relations Coordinating Board (Bakohumas) and the Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) held the State Secretariat Mantul Road to G20 edition of Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to accelerate the recovery of the national economy and tourism through the G-20. The Regent of West Manggarai, Edistasius Endi said, through a series of G-20 events and the presence of the delegates, it is hoped that this can be a momentum to increase contributions in supporting domestic economic recovery. "The series of activities of the G-20 Presidency and the presence of the delegates will have the potential to benefit the West Manggarai economy, which was chosen to be one of the locations for the G-20 side event, either directly to the service sector such as hotels, transportation, MSMEs, and other related sectors or indirectly through the impact on investment perceptions and economic actors," said Edistasius Endi, in his statement, Wednesday (9/3/2022). Regent Edi thanked the central government in this case BPOLBF as a work unit under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) for the coordination that has been established so far to make this international event a success.
The Director-General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information who is also the General Chair of the Government Bakohumas, Usman Kansong, stated that the momentum of the G-20 Presidency is the right moment for economic and tourism recovery. "It's time for us to recover from Covid-19 and the G20 Presidency is the right moment to build economic recovery and tourism. By bringing local wisdom, the G20 was held in various regions in Indonesia, including Labuan Bajo and this can directly move the regional economy, especially supporting the revival of the local economy," he said. The President Director of BPOLBF, Shana Fatina said that as momentum for economic recovery, the G20 Presidency which was held in several places in Indonesia, including in Labuan Bajo, had certainly been prepared as well as possible. In Labuan Bajo, the coordination to welcome this event has been going on for the last 3 years. "Preparations to welcome the G20 have been going on for the last 3 years. When President Joko Widodo first said Labuan Bajo was the venue for the G20 event, we immediately coordinated across Ministries & institutions, Regional Government, and pentahelix to prepare it all, both in terms of amenities, accessibility, and attractions, by strengthening human resources and the creative economy ecosystem to make Labuan Bajo a worthy host for international events," she explained.
