Since Bali Airport Opened, 1,600 Tourists from Five Countries Have Come to Indonesia

A total of more than 1,600 foreign tourists have come to Bali since it opened as one of the gateways for international travel. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut B. Pandjaitan said that the opening of Bali to receive foreign tourist arrivals had gone smoothly. Coordinating Minister Luhut who is also the Coordinator of PPKM Java-Bali said since the opening of Bali to foreign tourists, more than 1,600 foreign tourists have come to Bali. According to him, more than 50 percent of them chose to do bubble quarantine. In addition, most foreign tourists choose bubble hotels with an average room price per night reaching IDR 3 million. "Russia, Australia, France, America, and the Netherlands dominate foreign tourists who come to Bali," he said, Sunday (28/2/2022). For the opening of the next stage, Luhut said he would add bubble hotels to 17 hotels and general quarantine hotels (in rooms) to 41. Other improvements will be made by including bookings through online travel agents, availability of isolation rooms, airport pick-up mechanisms, and e-visa convenience.

So far, regarding the transition policy from the Covid-19 pandemic, Luhut said it would be implemented in stages. In addition, it is also necessary to prepare a roadmap to prepare for the normalization of community activities through the Covid-19 virus control policy with a target so that hospitalization and death rates remain at a low level. For this reason, the government will take various initial steps including increasing the coverage of the second vaccination dose and also booster, increasing the capacity of active case surveillance, testing, and tracing to guarantee a qualified health response facility. “All policies in the transition process that we will go through together, of course, cannot be done in a hurry and only follow the existing trend. Achieving a situation close to normal requires a new perspective on life and conditions. Of course, this is something that the government and the community need to prepare," he explained.
