The Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, Bahlil Lahadalia, said that the realization of investment between Java and Outside Java was balanced. In fact, it was recorded higher outside Java. Bahlil said this could not be separated from the massive infrastructure development carried out by President Joko Widodo, including connecting access to tourism points. "We know that the investment position outside Java is balanced, even exceeding 52 percent, while in Java the remaining 48 percent," he said at the Merdeka Economic Forum, Monday (28/2/2022). "This happened inseparable from the first five years of President Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla who built a lot of massive infrastructures, including tourism areas. This is also a form of giving birth to the growth of new economic areas. This is a strategy that will lead to economic growth," as Bahlil said. He stated that the tourism sector was one of the sectors that had been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It means that this sector needs to be encouraged to immediately rise to meet the post-pandemic era. The distribution of this investment needs to be proud of, said Bahlil, with a fairly balanced portion. Although investment to Bali and West Nusa Tenggara is still outperformed with a share of 39 percent. "Then Java with 36 percent, Sumatra with 17 percent, Sulawesi with 4 percent," he said. He emphasized that in encouraging investment, it is also necessary to invest optimally for regional entrepreneurs. In other words, investments still have to collaborate with regional entrepreneurs. "So the key is collaboration, both from outside and within the country must collaborate with regional entrepreneurs. If there is a lot of investment, but it doesn't advance the region, then it must involve the region so that a balance can occur," he stated.
