Customs and Excise Encourage Export Activities so that the National Economy Continues to Grow

Customs through office services in the regions continues to support export activities. This is done for the recovery of the national economy. As a result, Indonesia's economic performance in the fourth quarter of 2021 grew 5.02 % yoy (year-on-year). One of the reasons for this positive economic performance is high exports in various regions. Export activity was able to continue high economic growth in line with rising global commodity demand and prices. "Export activities grew significantly in the midst of daily Covid-19 cases which experienced an upward trend. Customs and Excise held its first export in the Yogyakarta, Kendal and Palangka Raya areas," said Hatta Wardhana, head of the Sub-Directorate of Public Relations and Customs Counseling. In Yogyakarta, Customs and Excise served and supervised the export activities of PT Maesindo Indonesia, Saturday (19/2) through Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). This time, the exports were first sent via YIA Airport. The exported goods are in the form of 4,000 isolation gowns or PPE (personal protective equipment) which are sent to Singapore using the customs service of FIN Logistics.  The exported goods are worth USD 3,260 or the equivalent of IDR 46 million with a net weight of 294 kilograms. Previously, Yogyakarta Customs and Excise served and supervised the export activities of PT Komitrando Emporio on Thursday (10/2) and Friday (11/2).

17,550 bags of products were exported to the United States and Korea. The export value reached USD 187,210.33 or IDR 2.7 billion. Goods are loaded in five containers and packed in 4,704 cartons via the Tanjung Emas loading port. In Kendal, Semarang Customs and Excise served the first export of PT Eclat Textile International in the Kendal Special Economic Zone, Monday (14/2). The products exported are clothing with the Nike trademark which are transported using four tronton wingbox trucks through Tanjung Priok Port. This product will be marketed to the United States. The rate of economic growth through export activities from the non-oil and gas sector is indeed a hope for Indonesia. "In the midst of a pandemic situation like this, we must work smartly to utilize the potential of natural resources for economic recovery. We optimize the export of fishery and marine products in coastal areas because 62 % of Indonesia's territory is ocean. Therefore, Palangka Raya Customs and Excise strongly supports export activities launched by the Central Kalimantan regional government," said Hatta. Palangka Raya Customs and Excise participated in the inaugural launch of the export of fishery and marine products organized by the regional government of Central Kalimantan, Friday (18/2). Through the launch of the initial export of fishery and marine products, Customs hopes that it can be a trigger for business actors in Central Kalimantan to be encouraged to export. Customs and Excise is also committed to improving various customs services so that the export rate always runs smoothly.
