The Indonesian Ambassador Handed Over a Letter of Credence to the President of Italy

Indonesian Ambassador Muhammad Prakosa handed a letter of credence to the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella at the Italian Presidential Palace Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, Italy on Friday (18/2). Muhammad Prakosa will serve as ambassador to Italy and concurrently with Malta, Cyprus, San Marino, and several international organizations - FAO, IFAD, WFP, and UNIDORIT, according to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Rome received in Jakarta, Monday. In the ceremony of handing over the credentials, Prakosa conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and all the people of Indonesia to the President of Italy and all the people of Italy. Prakosa also congratulated on the inauguration of President Sergio Mattarella for the second time in early February 2022. Furthermore, Prakosa conveyed several of his commitments to continue to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Italy in all fields.


Prakosa is committed to increasing the intensity of bilateral relations; deepening and broadening the diversification of trade, investment, and tourism relations; strengthening social, cultural, and educational cooperation; and improving the quality of protection for Indonesian citizens through strengthening relations with Italian authorities. He also conveyed the theme of the Indonesian G20 Presidency, namely "Recover Together, Recover Stronger" with three priority issues, namely global health architecture, digital transformation, and sustainable energy transition. In a friendly tête-à-tête (face-to-face) meeting with Prakosa, Italian President Sergio Mattarella said that he was very impressed by the diversity and harmony of religious communities in Indonesia. In addition, according to Mattarella, Indonesia and Italy also have good economic and trade relations. Mattarella expressed Italy's readiness and openness to always support various efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields. The ceremony of handing over the credentials began and ended with a military salute by the Italian cavalrymen at the Quirinale Palace.
