The government will implement a travel bubble policy for delegates attending the G20 meeting from various countries. This policy is considered appropriate for important international activities while still suppressing the rate of Covid-19 cases. Launching Kompas.com, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that the travel bubble was considered the right scheme to maintain the effectiveness of handling the pandemic in the country. According to Sandiaga, the travel bubble scenario for the 2022 G20 Indonesia activities has been prepared while continuing to pay attention to the latest Covid-19 developments. He added, these hotels were chosen as quarantine hotels because they had met a number of requirements. One of them is by providing a quarantine hotel that has been prepared by the Bali Provincial Government to run a travel bubble system. These hotels are spread over a number of areas designated as green zone locations in Bali. "Among them are hotels in the Nusa Dua, Kuta, Sanur, and Ubud areas," Sandiaga explained in a virtual Weekly Press Briefing, Monday (14/2/2022).
The condition is that the quarantine hotel management implements strict and disciplined health protocols, and provides a place or facility to conduct inspections of Overseas Travelers (PPLN). Furthermore, a number of certain hotels were chosen as a step to stimulate the economy and create job opportunities in Bali. The concept of bubble quarantine itself can be interpreted by grouping people for certain activities without having to do quarantine, citing Kompas.com. However, people who are in the bubble must meet requirements such as having been vaccinated, the PCR test results showing negative Covid-19, and only doing activities in the place or bubble. For information, there will be special supervision for foreign travel actors (PPLN) during the implementation of the upcoming G20 activities. "Later on, supervision for PPLN during the quarantine period will be carried out by the Bali Provincial Health Office and Denpasar Class 1 Port Health Office," said Sandiaga.
