The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) wants international flights to be served again at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to be a momentum for economic revival and wider job creation for the people of Bali and Indonesia. After last Thursday (3/2) Bali Airport served the inaugural international flight of Garuda Indonesia airline from Narita Japan, on Wednesday (16/2) Bali Airport again received international flights on the Singapore-Bali-Singapore route operated by Singapore Airlines. "This will certainly increase the accessibility of foreign tourists to Indonesia, especially Bali, given the huge market demand for visiting tourist destinations in Indonesia," said Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, in a statement received in Badung Regency, Wednesday.
She said that the return of Singapore Airlines to Bali was one of the results of the strong collaboration between Singapore Airlines, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Bali Provincial Government, the Ministry of Transportation, and other related parties. The international flight is also expected to increase the opportunities for stakeholders to raise and encourage the national economy through the tourism sector. "Singapore Airlines will operate seven flights a week between Singapore and Bali. The resumption of daily flights to Bali will facilitate SLA customers who wish to travel to and from Bali," she said. Nia Niscaya explained that later tourists or international travelers (PPLN) can also take a warm-up vacation package upon arrival on the Island of the Gods, which is an innovation for PPLN or tourists who have just come to Bali so that they can undergo quarantine in a hotel with a bubble system. The warm-up vacation allows PPLNs who have just arrived in Bali to be able to carry out activities not only in their rooms but can carry out various activities in the bubble area specially prepared by the hotel manager. "So this is different from quarantine which is only in rooms. The warm-up vacation program is carried out in hotels that implement a bubble system that is ready with health protocols in a disciplined manner," she said.
Meanwhile, General Manager of Indonesia Singapore Airlines, Alvin Seah, appreciated the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Directorate General of Air Transportation, Angkasa Pura, and the Government of Bali, who have supported the re-activation of Singapore Airlines flights to Bali. "We would like to thank the Ministry of Tourism, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Angkasa Pura, Bali Government, and all relevant authorities for their continuous support for SLA and good cooperation so that we can continue to provide the best service for our customers," he said. He hoped that the pandemic situation in Indonesia could continue to improve and remain under control so that the tourism industry could continue to improve. "Flight tickets between Singapore and Bali are available and sold through various distribution channels of Singapore Airlines. For more information on travel requirements on SLA commercial flights to Bali, you can also visit Singapore Airlines' Travel Advisory page," said Alvin.
