Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga released the export of processed crab products of Aruna Crab weighing 15 tons or worth 500 thousand US dollars to the destination country of Canada. The export release initiated by PT Aruna Jaya Nuswantara was carried out at the Safe Lock warehouse complex, in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, Thursday. Also attending the event were East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, PT Nirwana Segara Chief Executive Officer Aik Wulandari and Aruna Indonesia Chief Sustainability Officer Utari Octavianti. "Based on data released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the ITC Trademap, the export value of Indonesian fishery products in 2021 will reach USD 4.06 billion or a positive growth of 6.92% compared to 2020," said the Vice Minister of Trade. He said, in East Java, as much as 53% of our exports in the fisheries sector were carried out to America and this is a very proud thing because this export is also a contribution from a startup born in 2016 with the largest series A funding in Indonesia.
"Supported by Nirwana Segara's passion from downstream, coupled with the sustainability offered by Aruna, both are very appropriate compositions," he said. On that occasion, Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Dardak noted this was the creation of the nation's children to accelerate Indonesia's largest export potential. "Don't forget, Indonesia also has PPEI, Indonesian Export Training and Education to support Indonesian MSMEs in carrying out exports. This activity should be able to help us communicate this," he said. The CEO of Nirwana Segara, Aik Wulandari, said that this is an important point of the marine ecosystem because crab fishermen, wherever they are, must always comply with the crab fishery sustainability program. "One of them is by not catching small crabs, crabs that lay eggs outside, or catching using tools that are not environmentally friendly. Because crabs and sustainable fisheries are life," he said. He said, Aruna Crab is a product of Nirwana Segara's strategic partnership with Aruna. "As a premium quality seafood product with 10g of succulent protein and 45 calories per serving, the entire production process of Aruna Crab is made following the sustainability standards set by Nirwana Segara and sourced from the catch of local fishermen assisted by Aruna," Tutukaan said.

"Located in Bangkalan, East Java, Aruna Zero Waste Hub processes crab shell waste into fish feed products which of course have more selling value," he said.
