Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati assessed that Indonesia's economic growth in 2021 was 3.69% according to the economic recovery scenario. Likewise with the realization of the fourth quarter of 2021 which was 5.02%. Sri Mulyani said that the realization was quite close to the projection of the Ministry of Finance where in the fourth quarter of 2021 it was 5.1% and for the whole year 3.7%. All components are said to have contributed to the economy, from household consumption to trade. "This figure is quite close to the projection/forecast of the Ministry of Finance delivered in early January 2022," Sri Mulyani wrote on her official Instagram account @smiindrawati, Monday (7/2/2022). All sectors also experienced improvements including manufacturing, trade, construction, warehousing transport, mining, information/communication. "This is a good development, in accordance with the economic recovery scenario," he said.
In 2022, said Sri Mulyani, economic challenges remain dynamic and must be watched out for. Such as the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the increasing Omicron variant, the increasingly challenging global environment due to the tapering of monetary policy in the United States (US), rising interest rates and high inflation in developed countries, to rising geopolitical tensions, creating additional uncertainty. "Our money state budget will continue to be an important instrument in flexible, responsive and accountable economic recovery. The state budget will continue to be gradually consolidated in order to achieve 3 important goals: (1) economic health, (2) people's health and (3) state budget health," he said. For information, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the Indonesian economy in 2021, even in the midst of a pandemic, will still grow by 3.69%. "Cumulatively, Indonesia's economy is 3.69%. This is much better than the conditions in 2020 where the Indonesian economy contracted by 2.07%. So looking at the various events that occurred in the fourth quarter of 2021, health recovery is an important factor for economic recovery. ," said BPS Head Margo Yuwono in a press conference at the BPS head office, Central Jakarta, Monday (7/2/2022).
