The Ministry of Finance: Digital Product VAT Receipts Reach IDR 5.03 trillion

The Expert Staff of the Minister of Finance for Tax Compliance, Yon Arsal, said that the receipt of the Value Added Tax (VAT) for Trading Through the Electronic System (PMSE) for digital products had reached IDR 5.03 trillion from 2020 to January 31, 2022. "Since its implementation in 2020 until now, we have appointed 98 PMSEs in stages and we will evaluate them continuously," said Yon at the 2022 HPN National Convention which was monitored online in Jakarta, Monday. PMSE VAT collection has been carried out since 2020 which is regulated in Article 6 Paragraph 1 of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (PERPPU) Number 1 of 2020. He detailed that the PMSE VAT deposit consisted of IDR 731.4 billion in 2020, IDR 3.9 trillion in 2021, and IDR 397.2 billion in January 2022. As many as 98 PMSEs have been appointed, including 52 appointments, three corrections, and one PMSE revocation in 2020, 43 appointments and 12 corrections in 2021, and four appointments and two corrections in January 2022. Yon emphasized that he would continue to comb through the various PMSE transactions carried out so that they could be taxed according to applicable regulations. "This principle is not just pursuing revenue, but providing a level playing field for all types of transactions or players in this environment," he said. Thus, there is a principle of justice between conventional, digital, domestic, and foreign traders who sell their products in Indonesia.
