The value of agricultural exports from North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) in 2021 will reach IDR 5.8 trillion. This achievement increased by 10% compared to exports in 2020 of IDR 2.82 trillion. "There are 46 countries that are export destinations," said the Head of the Manado Agricultural Quarantine Center, Donni Muksydayan, Monday (31/1/2022).
Meanwhile, China, Malaysia, the United States, the Netherlands, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Germany, Spain and Thailand are the ones that absorb the most of North Sulawesi's agricultural export commodities. "Asia absorbs the most agricultural exports from this area, namely 71.1%, followed by Europe 15.4%, America 11.9%, while Australia and Oceania at 1%," said Donni Muksydayan in Manado. The agricultural export performance of the province with a population of more than 2.6 million people has increased, as indicated by the number of quarantine certificates issued. Throughout 2020, 35,636 quarantine certificates were issued, while in 2021 it rose to 56,024 or an increase of 21,000 more certificates.
The increase in quarantine certifications issued, according to him, could be caused by three conditions, namely increased trade in North Sulawesi during the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, public compliance in reporting commodities to be exported is getting higher, as well as strengthening supervision services in the field which are getting stronger, resulting in a large increase in agricultural exports. The increasing number of innovations carried out as well as the positive synergies built with all stakeholders in this area will encourage an increase in exports in 2022.
