Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that international entry points to Bali will reopen next week. Luhut said the opening of the international entrance on the Island of the Gods was intended to make it easier for tourists to visit in order to stimulate the economy. "The government said that it would reopen international entrances in Bali on February 4, 2022. This is intended to re-invigorate Bali's economy, which has been quite affected by this pandemic," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, January 31.
However, the opening of the Bali entrance is only intended for non-PMI foreign travelers (PPLN). Then, the quarantine duration for PPLN also follows the existing rules, which is 5 days. Luhut emphasized that the government would still carry out the opening in stages and continue. In addition, Bali also provides two additional options for PPLN quarantine, namely bubble and ship quarantine. "Bubble quarantine starts at 5 hotels first with a total of 4,470 rooms and 6 live on board ships that have been certified CHSE by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy," he explained.
Apart from Bali, the government has previously set the entrance for international passenger travel through Soekarno Hatta Airport in Banten, Juanda in East Java and Sam Ratulangi in North Sulawesi. The entrance to the sea route is through the Batam Port in the Riau Islands, Tanjung Pinang in the Riau Islands and Nunukan in North Kalimantan. The entrance is via the National Border Post via the Aruk border in West Kalimantan, Entikong in West Kalimantan and Motaain in East Nusa Tenggara.
