The presence of the sea highway program initiated by President Joko Widodo is considered capable of developing the regional economy because it is facilitated equally. This was stated by the Head of the Regional Development Agency (Bappeda) of the Morotai Islands, North Maluku, Thamrin Fabanyo. He said that the existence of this sea highway will greatly help the community's economy. According to him, the program has proven to be able to boost the regional economy. "The sea toll program is very influential on economic improvement in Morotai Island Regency," said Thamrin in a statement received on Sunday (30/1). Thamrin saw the presence of the sea toll road was able to cut the price gap that was often felt by the community before. the sea highway, the distribution costs that must be incurred are quite large. Thamrin added this sea highway is a very strategic policy. Through this, Thamrin is optimistic that it will bring equality between regions in Indonesia. "I think this is a very positive and strategic thing to balance districts or cities, especially in eastern Indonesia," explained Thamrin. The sea toll program has been one of President Jokowi's mainstay programs since his first term in office, to be precise, launched on October 20, 2014, which was organized through the Ministry of Transportation. This program is intended to create a smooth delivery or distribution of goods to remote areas.
