Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno is preparing an international-scale event in 2022. Of course, this event is packed with the power of tourism and the creative economy by implementing strict and disciplined health protocols. Sandiaga Uno explained that this international standard event had many benefits. In addition to encouraging economic revival, it will also create many job opportunities. "This year we are focusing on economic revival. An international scale event will be a locomotive for the creation of economic activities and stretches both in Jakarta and the archipelago," said Sandiaga Uno, in a written statement, Wednesday (26/1/2022). Some of these events include the Mandalika MotoGP, the G20 Presidency, as well as the World Conference on Creative Economy.
Sandiaga gave an example of holding the World Superbike at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in November 2021, which had a very large derivative impact on other sectors. Such as the hotel occupancy rate in Lombok which reached 62.4 percent (the highest since the pandemic) and reached 100 percent on the implementation date (18 to 21 November 2021). The number of workers absorbed also reached 3,000 people with revenue from the food and beverage, entertainment, souvenir sectors reaching Rp6.75 billion. "In Mandalika NTB, we (will) hold MotoGP, and it looks like the extraordinary impact for the local community, especially MSMEs, has been eagerly awaited by the community," said Sandiaga.

Don't Get Caught Up in Polemics
 
He also invited the public and various parties to continue to support various international events in Indonesia and not get caught up in the existing polemics. Such as the implementation of Formula E where a re-tender for the construction of the circuit is being carried out. "I invite all of us not to have polemics, we wish the final decision for the best because in my opinion each activity will cause an economic stretch, but don't get caught up in a commotion, we will provide the best support," said Sandiaga. "The final decision rests with the organizers. But if it is not held, of course, we hope that our economic revival with the G20, with MotoGP, with the World Conference on Creative Economy which will continue to be held, hopefully, can continue to generate momentum for our economic recovery," said Sandiaga.
