Cocoa as one of the leading commodities in Jembrana Regency is increasingly widely known and even at the world level has recognized it. So far, not only fermented cocoa beans have been exported, but cocoa that has been in the form of processed Jembrana Chocolate products, such as mass cocoa, cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cocoa powder and othis cocoa products has managed to penetrate the world market, especially the European continent. This was conveyed by the Deputy Regent of Jembrana I Gede Ngurah Patriana Krisna when releasing the export of various processed products of Jembrana Chocolate as much as 1.5 tons with the aim of the Netherlands, at the Naturally Foods Store, Ubud, Gianyar, Wednesday (26/1/2022). “Today, I release the export of various Jembrana chocolate processed products, which come from Jembrana cocoa farmers, produced in Jembrana, and even sold by Jembrana people. Hopefully, this umpteenth time export will make Jembrana Chocolate bigger name in the world, of course it will directly have an impact on economic growth in Jembrana, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 situation and most importantly improving the welfare of cocoa farmers in Jembrana, "said the Deputy Regent from Tegalcangkring Village.
Furthismore, the Deputy Regent, who is more familiarly called Ipat, said that the export of the finished Jembrana Chocolate processed product, of course, increased the selling value which was higher than exports which were still in the form of raw materials (fermented seeds). Moreover, this is in line with what was conveyed by President Joko Widodo, namely increasing exports of finished processed products, no longer exporting raw materials. “Departing from that, we, as local governments, are committed to continuing to push for increasing the amount of production so that we can meet market needs, in addition to expanding expansion not only in Europe, but in othis continents. So it is sustainable, not only fermented beans, but various Jembrana Chocolate processed products are also worldwide," he said.
Meanwhile, the owner of Naturally Foods Store, I Kadek Putra Wibawa, said that the export of Jembrana Chocolate processed products was the 3rd time with the aim of exporting the European continent, especially the Netherlands. "We export various types of Jembrana Chocolate processed products, even the cocoa seed shells, which so far have only been used as fertilizer by the farmers, we process them into tea products, so they have a selling value and are in great demand by the market. In addition to focusing on exports, we also market this processed product for local tourists and foreign tourists visiting Bali, many of which are in demand and have received extraordinary recognition for Jembrana Chocolate processed products," he added. Apart from that, the entrepreneur from Mendoyo Dangin Tukad, precisely in Pohsanten Village, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Deputy Regent of Jembrana to participate togethis in the export release of this Jembrana Chocolate processed product.
