Hundreds of Kilograms of Rendang Seasoning Ready for Export to Europe

Padang, West Sumatra - Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra, Dapur Mutiara will export around 750 kilograms of rendang seasoning to Europe this month after it successfully penetrated the market through online sales. The owner of Mutiara Kitchen, Fibrianti Takarina when contacted from Padang, Wednesday (26/02/2022) said that this is the second export to be carried out this month, with a total of 15 thousand units of rendang seasoning, each weighing 50 grams. "God willing, we will export this month," she said. Previously, the first shipment was in May 2021 weighing 300 kilograms consisting of rendang, egg rendang, lung rendang and others. The first delivery was in the form of a sample and it turned out that they liked it there and were ready to work together to market the product throughout Europe. "We get a special contract from the distributor of Toko Indonesia there and our goods will be marketed throughout Europe by them. We have a contract for the next two years with distributors there to market the products we send," she said.

Fibrianti herself started this business during the Covid-19 pandemic when her usual business in the property sector stagnated and turned to the culinary world. This business was carried out at her home in the Taman Mutiara Ngalau complex, Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra, which began in 2020. Before getting the contract, this Mutiara Kitchen product had also been sold to Germany through a custodial service program and there have even been five deliveries. According to her, once a shipment, 100 kilograms of products are sent to Germany and Alhamdulillah, now her party has obtained a contract with more shipments. "So now the rendang business is running smoothly and we are the only one in West Sumatra that exports rendang seasoning to Germany because we already have an exclusive contract with Europe," she said. She hopes that the marketing of her products will be more advanced and can be marketed to various countries Currently, the Mutiara Kitchen business has produced a wide variety of products including Beef Rendang, Tuna Rendang, Suwir Rendang, Jackfruit Rendang, Jengkol Rendang, rendang spices and so on. She said that to market products, a good and correct marketing strategy is needed, with a word of mouth marketing strategy and utilizing online business, now the products have been marketed outside the city to foreign countries. "By selling online our products have reached Papua, Maluku, Kalimantan and other provinces in Indonesia," she said. She said this product reached Europe because of the role of various parties, including the Tourism Office, which facilitated when there was an offer they offered Dapur Mutiara so that it runs as it is today. Likewise, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, which makes its own business as a foster partner and gets many benefits in developing a business such as building a kitchen, buying cooking utensils and managing business licenses and with food vacuum machine equipment, this product can last up to a year and four months.

Meanwhile, Area Manager of Communication Relations & CSR of Sumbagut PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Taufikurachman said that his party will continue to support the development of Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) of fostered partners so that they grow into strong, strong and independent business actors. This Partnership Program supports MSEs to rise from economic pressure due to the pandemic," he said. In addition, this program also aims to continue to implement the eight points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely decent work and economic growth.
