KKP prepares the 2022 Quality Assurance action plan for fishery products

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has prepared a Quality Assurance 2022 action plan in the context of accelerating the quality of national marine and fishery products, by cooperating with stakeholders, especially business actors. Acting Head of the Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Agency for Marine and Fishery Products (BKIPM) KKP, Hari Maryadi in Jakarta, Tuesday, stated that the Quality Assurance action plan refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Number 10 of 2021 concerning Standards for Business Activities and Products in the Implementation of Licensing Risk-Based Business in the Marine and Fisheries Sector, as well as the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Number 19 of 2010 concerning Control of the Quality Assurance and Safety of Fishery Products. "This action plan is to support the KKP priority program for 2021-2024," said Hari Maryadi. He explained that the Quality Assurance activities that were prepared in the cultivation area included verification of the application of good fish hatchery standards, good fish rearing standards and good methods of making fish feed. Then, he continued, monitoring and surveillance in the context of preventing the entry and spread of quarantine fish diseases, fulfilling biosecurity standardization in UUPI, quality monitoring by testing samples of feed, water, ice to supporting activities such as technical guidance and assistance. "This year, BKIPM supports the development of 15 cultivation villages spread across Indonesia," he explained.


Hari added, the objectives of the implementation of the socialization and preparation of an action plan for an inventory of references/considerations and equalization of perceptions in the implementation of Quality Assurance in order to produce an Action Plan for 2022-2024. He hopes that the 2022 Quality Assurance work plan can be guided by both the Central and UPT levels within the scope of BKIPM, together with related parties. The priority policies for KKP 2021-2024 include the application of measured capture in each Fisheries Management Area for ecological sustainability. Second, the development of export-oriented aquaculture for superior commodities, including shrimp, lobster, crab and seaweed. Finally, the development of fishing villages based on local wisdom in freshwater, brackish, and sea for poverty alleviation and maintaining the sustainability of local fish, especially those with high economic value.
