The existence of new regulations related to fishing through the contract system is considered to be able to increase investment in the marine and fisheries sector in 2022 to grow by 3-4%. This was conveyed by the Director of Business and Investment of the Directorate General of PDSPKP Catur Sarwanto, in the 2022 Marine and Fisheries Business Investment Opportunity Webinar, Thursday (20/1/2022). "Our target is of course to increase by 3-4 % of the total investment that we currently plan at IDR 6.02 trillion. so hopefully this can be achieved. Because there is a new policy, there is one thing that is quite interesting in investment, of course, as a driving force later, "said Catur. Catur said, if you look back, the realization of investment for the past 5 years is still Java-centric. Therefore, he believes that the existence of a scalable fishing program will encourage more equitable investment throughout Indonesia.
As a start, KKP will hold an investment forum to provide education and space for investors or potential investors to ask further details regarding investment opportunities in the marine and fisheries sector. "Regarding our planned activities in March, we will encourage one of them related to new regulations that must be socialized," he said. In the forum, later will be introduced about investment in cultivation to increase exports. This issue is in line with the KKP's focus, namely how to provide information on investment opportunities in aquaculture, especially shrimp. Furthermore, related to quota-based measurable fishing regulations that will be submitted by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Wahyu Sakti Trenggono. "In the forum, the Minister will provide more detailed information, and there will be a talk show related to the implementation of policies in order to encourage investment related to these two things," he said. The investment forum is planned to be held at the end of March 2022 which will last for 2 days in Jakarta.
