The Riau Islands Province Tourism Office (Kepri) has prepared about 239 tourism activities for 2022, which soon will be launched at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). "The possibility of the event will increase because it is still being discussed with parties related to the tourism sector," said the Head of the Riau Islands Tourism Office, Buralimar, in Tanjungpinang, Tuesday. He said that the activities were spread across seven regencies/cities in Riau Islands. Several large international activities will be held, especially in Bintan Regency, such as the Tour de Bintan, Bintan Triathlon, Ironman, to Metaman.
He is optimistic that the 2022 tourism agenda can go according to plan, provided that the spread of COVID-19 remains under control and the sea gates from Singapore to Indonesia or vice versa are immediately opened by the central government. "That way, Singaporeans or people who usually enter the Riau Islands via Singapore can travel here," said Buralimar. Buralimar continued, conveying the 2022 tourism calendar involving district/city governments, tourism associations, and event organizers (EO). Meanwhile, his party specifically does not hold its own tourism activities. "We only support the needs of tourism organizers, in the context of economic recovery from the impact of the pandemic," he added.
