The Jambi Provincial Government (Pemprov) asked coffee farmers in the area to maintain the quality of coffee commodities to expand marketing in international markets. "The commodity of Kerinci Coffee has been exported to various countries such as Norway, Egypt, Taiwan and America. It is hoped that farmers can maintain the quality of coffee to expand marketing in international markets," said Jambi Governor Al Haris in Jambi, Monday. Al Haris explained that Kerinci Coffee is an arabica type coffee that has been well processed by farmers, cooperatives, and exporters. The government encourages that Kerinci Arabica Coffee is not freely traded abroad by changing the name and brand, through integrated marketing so that in the international market it is known as Kerinci Arabica Coffee. Therefore, he continued, it is important to maintain the quality of coffee sent abroad. Al Haris hopes that the development of coffee production centers in Kerinci Regency will continue. The coffee production center is able to absorb a lot of workers and help reduce unemployment. "The potential of the coffee commodity in Jambi Province is extraordinary because it has penetrated the international market, this has a good impact on the government because it reduces unemployment," said Al Haris.
The integration of processing and marketing of Kerinci Arabica Coffee can prevent unwanted things. Even though it is exported in the form of raw materials, the packaging still uses the name Kerinci Arabica Coffee. In addition to Kerinci Arabica Coffee, the Jambi Provincial Government also encourages the marketing of Liberica Coffee which also comes from Jambi to penetrate the international market and have its own market share. Because each type of coffee has its own connoisseur. "Development of coffee production centers must continue because it has a positive impact on the people and economy of Jambi Province. In the future, the government will try to combine it with the Jambi Provincial Government's Two Billion One District (Dumisake) Program," said Al Haris.
