East Java Investment is Targeted at IDR 72 Trillion in 2022, There are 4 Regions Offering Potential to Investors

With the optimism that East Java will rise, the One-Stop Service Investment Office (DPM-PTSP) of East Java has set a high enough target for investment realization in 2022. As stated by the Head of DPM-PTSP, Aris Mukiyono, Tuesday (11/1/2022), in 2022, the East Java Provincial Government projects an investment realization of IDR 72 trillion. This realization target is an increase compared to the 2021 investment target of IDR 67 trillion. Where until the third quarter of 2021, the realization of investment in 2021 has realized Rp 52.7 trillion. "In 2022, we hope there will be a spread of investment realization in 38 regencies/cities in East Java. Because almost 65 percent of investment realization is concentrated in regencies and metropolis cities such as Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, Pasuruan, and Mojokerto," said Aris.

Based on the release of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in October 2021, East Java's investment performance until the third quarter of 2021 was dominated by Domestic Investment (PMDN) with a value of IDR 36.4 trillion. This investment is dominated by the housing sector, industrial estates, and offices with a contribution of 52.6 percent. Meanwhile, Foreign Investment (PMA) contributed Rp. 16.3 trillion and was dominated by the mining sector. To boost investment, at the end of 2021, the East Java DPMPTSP will hold a Bussines Forum and One on One Meeting, at a hotel in Surabaya. This event brings together entrepreneurs, regional heads, and potential investors. At least, four areas describe opportunities and potential for investors. These areas include Ngawi, Malang, Sidoarjo, and Lamongan. The forum was an opportunity for regional heads to promote their potential in front of 250 businessmen who were present both offline and online. Many investors who attended came from Bekasi, Jakarta. Even from Japan to the United States. "We continue to try to boost investment realization to boost East Java's economic growth," said Aris.
