Customs and Excise took an active role in encouraging the export of agricultural products from 34 provinces in Indonesia, Thursday (30/12). The export activities organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture were carried out to 124 countries with an estimated volume of products reaching 1.3 million tons amounting to Rp 14.4 trillion. The exports were simultaneously released by the Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo. With the theme "Resilient Exports, Indonesia Grows", the activity was centered at the Soekarno-Hatta Seaport Container Terminal, Makassar, and was followed online from all over Indonesia. The East Sumatra Customs and Excise (Sumbagtim) also encourages exports of agricultural products from the South Sumatra region.
In this activity, South Sumatra Province exported agricultural commodities with a total of 16.61 thousand tons worth Rp 244.4 billion to a number of countries. Some of these commodities include processed wood, palm oil, frozen fresh coconut milk, coconut fiber, palm kernel shell, maggot, and round coconut. "We are ready to encourage increased exports from South Sumatra with maximum service and various facilities," said Sugeng Apriyanto, Head of the Sumbagtim Customs and Excise Office.
According to him, agricultural commodities are one of the mainstay export products to improve the welfare of farmers. Furthermore, Jambi Customs and Excise, represented by the Head of the Extension and Information Services Section, Enny Efriani, was also present at the Gebyar export activity in Jambi Province which was held at the Talang Duku River Port. The event was also attended by the Governor of Jambi Province, Jambi Regional Police Chief, Jambi Mayor, Regents throughout Jambi Province and other Government Officials. There are 10 agricultural commodities exported from Jambi, namely gambier, processed rubber, rubber wood, processed wood, areca nut, round coconut, copra, coffee, cinnamon and palm shells. Exports of these commodities to 12 countries in Asia to Europe with a volume of 86.43 thousand tons with an export value of Rp 202.6 billion. Enny said the high potential for exporting agricultural products from the Jambi Region encourages them to always provide services and assistance to business actors. "We hope that in the future exports from Jambi will increase and have a positive impact on the lives of farmers in Jambi," concluded Enny.
