Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said, there was an increase in the realization of tourism investment in 2021 by Rp. 14.9 trillion and contributed to the realization of national investment by 3.36 percent. "This is an achievement that I feel proud of," he said at the 2021 Year-End Press Conference (JPAT) quoted from Antara, Monday (27/12/2021). Foreign investment (PMA) reached IDR 2.94 trillion from countries of origin, including Singapore at IDR 1,494.49 billion, England at IDR 202.26 billion, and France at IDR 144.74 billion.
As for several types of businesses that became places for investment, namely star hotels of Rp. 1,335.31 billion, restaurants and foodservice providers of Rp. 754.75 billion, and the provision of other short-term accommodations of Rp. 468.21 billion. Meanwhile, the top three destinations for PMA came from DKI Jakarta Rp1,083.86 billion, Bali Rp716.40 billion, and West Nusa Tenggara Rp410.35 billion.
Regarding domestic investment, it was recorded that it reached Rp. 11.96 trillion, with star hotels of Rp. 6,508.18 billion, tourism areas of Rp. 2,860.11 billion, and the provision of beverages of Rp. 882.33 billion is the highest in terms of the type of business. Then the three largest destination areas, namely, from Banten Rp. 2,512.80 billion, DKI Rp. 1,902.22 billion, and East Java Rp. 1,511.49 billion. On that occasion, Sandiaga also conveyed that the foreign exchange value of tourism is predicted to touch the figure of 0.47-1.7 billion US dollars in 2022.
Next is the contribution of gross domestic product which is estimated to reach 4.3 percent, then the export value of creative economy products worth 21.28 billion US dollars. “(As for) the number of foreign tourists is always what we are after. But this time when we see the number in 2020 will reach 4.05 million people, in 2021 it is estimated that 1.5 million people, next year we will focus on 1.8-3.6 million, "said Sandiaga Uno. Furthermore, he relies on the movement of domestic tourists which is targeted to touch 260-280 million movements next year, and the added value of the creative economy which reaches Rp1,236 trillion. "(This) makes Indonesia now in the third position in the world after America with Hollywood and South Korea with K-pop," said Sandiaga Uno.
