Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati showcased the achievement of Indonesia's trade balance which was already very high. Even the highest in the last 14 years. Sri Mulyani explained that Indonesia's trade balance surplus in November 2021 reached US$ 3.5 billion. If accumulated since January-November 2021, the trade balance has reached US$ 34.3 billion. "This is the highest number in the last 14 years," he said at the Press Conference on the US State Budget, Tuesday (12/21/2021). She further explained that exports in November alone reached US$ 22.8 billion. According to his records, this is the highest export figure since 2000. "This means that in the last 21 years, the export figure was the highest. The growth was very high at 49.7% year on year. It was mainly driven by non-oil exports, whose growth even reached 75% year on year," she added.
Meanwhile, in terms of imports in November, it reached US$ 19.3 billion. The import grew 52.6% and was dominated by imports of raw materials for the production of the domestic manufacturing industry. "This is a positive and strong story in terms of the trade balance which will certainly have a strengthening impact when Indonesia faces a dynamic and turbulent global environment in 2022," she concluded.
