Deputy Minister of Trade: Trade Agreement Increases Trade Balance Surplus

Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga said that Indonesia's trade balance would continue to increase after Indonesia ratified a number of international trade agreements. In recent years, Indonesia has obtained a trade balance surplus, followed by the deputy minister of trade, Jerry Sambuaga, the agreement on the Indonesian trade agreement involved in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Indonesia-EFTA Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will boost the ease of Indonesia's exports as well as Indonesia's trade balance. Jerry Sambuaga hopes that Indonesia can maximize its superior products so that it can increase the value of Indonesian exports. Followed by the deputy minister of trade of Indonesia where he hopes that the superior products for export needs are not only conventional products but also maximize digital products such as online games and others. Seeing that in this digital era, it is very important to maximize and utilize digital products supported by easy transaction schemes using virtual methods.

Business Law Lecturer at BINUS University agrees with what was stated by Jerry Sambuaga, namely he believes that RCEP is the second largest trade cooperation agreement after the WTO which will be able to encourage Indonesian products to dominate the ASEAN market and other regions. This is followed by increasingly competitive and collaborative investments so that the quality of Indonesian products can be improved to compete in the international market.
