Anticipating the entry of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19, Angkasa Pura (AP) I increased coordination with airport stakeholders. This is to tighten the implementation of health protocols for international flight passengers. International flight entrances that have been specially tightened are I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado. "Coordination is also carried out with Immigration, the regional-level Covid-19 Task Force, and the Port Health Office (KKP), as the front guard in checking international arrivals at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado," said Angkasa Pura I president director Faik. Fahmi through a press release to Kompas.com, Monday (12/6/21).This tightening for international travellers or foreign nationals (foreign citizens) refers to government regulations, namely the Addendum of the SE Covid-19 Task Force No. 23 of 2021 and the SE of the Ministry of Transportation. 102 of 2021. The regulation temporarily prohibits the entry of foreigners, either directly or in transit in a foreign country, as well as those who have lived and/or visited within 14 days, countries with transmission of the Omicron variant. Some of these countries are South Africa, Botswana, and Hong Kong, including countries that are geographically close to the transmission country for Omicron cases, such as Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini and Lesotho.
Tightened international arrival regulations
For international travelers, both Indonesian citizens and foreigners, they are required to undergo quarantine for 10 x 24 hours and perform an RT-PCR test upon arrival. Then, they must perform a second RT-PCR on the 9th day of quarantine for Indonesian citizens and foreigners who carry out quarantine for a duration of 10 x 24 hours. For Indonesian citizens arriving from South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho, they are required to undergo a 14 x 24 hour quarantine and RT-PCR test upon arrival. On day 13, a second RT-PCR was performed. "Angkasa Pura I is committed to continuing to implement health protocols strictly in accordance with applicable regulations," said Faik Fahmi. It is hoped that the tightening measures taken can support the government's efforts to prevent, detect, and overcome the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus.
