"Therefore, each region needs to pay attention to its potential to be developed in order to provide added value and generate productivity," said Airlangga. The tourism sector is one of the drivers of national economic growth which is expected to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals, domestic tourist trips, foreign exchange earnings, employment, and an increase in Indonesia's tourism competitiveness index at the global level. Meanwhile, the government noted that there were 1,831 tourist villages from 34 provinces throughout Indonesia that had participated in registering and becoming participants in the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Anugerah (ADWI) event. From this number, the 50 best tourist villages were screened which won awards on the eve of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award. 2021 in realizing a world-class, competitive, and sustainable tourist village.
