Fatar assessed that with Indonesia's commitment to achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060, the role of the upstream oil and gas industry, especially natural gas, became increasingly crucial in line with the government's commitment to slowly reduce the use of coal energy. Natural gas as a larger energy alternative, he said, would play an important role in the transition to new and renewable energy. Meanwhile, the 2021 IOG Convention closed with several important activities, namely the signing of 41 commercial agreements; SKK Migas Award; and the launch of the National Capability Data Book.
