The North Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov Sumut) offers nine strategic projects in the area to investors. The provincial government is ready to provide various licensing facilities. "The investment for the nine projects can be through the PPP scheme (government cooperation with business entities) or direct investment," said the Acting (Pj) Secretary of the North Sumatra Province, Afifi Lubis in Medan, Saturday (27/11). The nine regional strategic projects in North Sumatra offered to investors are the Toba Kaldera Resort in Toba Regency, the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone in Simalungun and the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate in Batubara. In addition, the Medan industrial area and sports center in Deliserdang Regency, rental flats (rusunawa) are integrated in Simalungun and the airport city in Deliserdang. This includes the Pematangsiantar-Parapat railway construction project as well as the Medan Binjai and Deliserdang light rapid transit (LRT) projects. "Investors do not hesitate to invest in North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Provincial Government offers various licensing facilities," he said.

BI, he said, predicts that North Sumatra's economic growth in 2022 can follow the national target in the range of 4.7-5.5 percent. In 2021, economic growth is predicted to reach 3.2-4.0 percent.
