The Ministry of Trade Strengthens the National Muslim Halal and Fashion Industry

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) participated in the implementation of the Indonesia Product (Inapro) Expo 2021 in East Java. This exhibition is expected to strengthen the penetration of the halal industry and Muslim fashion in the country so that it will also accelerate the recovery of the national economy. Inapro Expo 2021 will be held on a hybrid basis on 25-28 November 2021, aiming to support the Proudly Made Indonesia (BBI) national movement and as part of efforts to recover the national economy. Taking the theme of Local Products to Global Markets, this exhibition showcases various superior Indonesian products, especially the province of East Java. "It is hoped that the Inapro Expo 2021, which will be held on a hybrid basis this year, can maximally contribute to Indonesia's economic recovery and growth," said Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi as quoted in a press release, Saturday, November 27, 2021.

Didi said that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, which has entered its second year, is not only felt by the health sector but also the global economy. All parties are required to adapt through the application of digital technology in social life, education, economy, including trading activities. "The Ministry of Trade appreciates the East Java Chamber of Commerce for facilitating exhibitors so that they can re-interact with buyers while still implementing strict health protocols," he said. The Ministry of Trade participated by presenting the Ministry of Trade Pavilion. The pavilion displays Muslim fashion products from six business actors. The business actors are PT Shantika Fashion Jaya, LORI Fashion, RAMLI Collection, Rasyida Alam, Eling Galeri, and PT Cipta Amanah Niaga.

According to Didi, the presence of Muslim fashion products at the Pavilion of the Ministry of Trade is in line with the efforts promoted by the Ministry of Trade, namely increasing exports of the Muslim fashion sector and halal products. In addition to Muslim fashion products, the Pavilion also presents an Information booth to promote export consulting services through the Surabaya Export Center (ECS). At this booth, the Ministry of Trade facilitated 10 business actors. "We hope that ECS can be used to develop and create strong and innovative Indonesian exporters so that they can penetrate the global market more smoothly," he said. Didi advised business actors to continue to use available information channels to improve product market access to global markets. "In addition, by taking advantage of existing international trade commitments between Indonesia and trading partner countries," Didi concluded.
