President Joko Widodo emphasized that investment is the anchor of Indonesia's economic recovery as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. "Investment is the anchor of economic recovery because the state budgets of all countries also have tough conditions," the President said at the 2021 National Coordination Meeting and Investment Service Award, Wednesday (24/11). The President said all countries have the same concern about the deficit. If the deficit is returned to normal conditions, there will be another shock. "The impact of this pandemic is really everywhere, everything is there at all points. Tens of thousands of trillions were put on the brakes because they wanted to return to a normal deficit again. This is also worrying but nothing has been calculated yet,” said the President. The Covid-19 pandemic has created global uncertainty and the complexity of interrelated problems, causing the economy of almost all countries to be shaken. Therefore, the President reminded all ministries, institutions and local governments to work hard to jointly control the pandemic. “Global uncertainty that all regional heads, service heads, all must understand and be able to anticipate, prepare for anticipation beforehand. Without us being able to control Covid, don't expect such a thing as economic growth," the President said.

The President said the government cannot continue to focus on the State Budget, even though the Minister of Finance has managed the State Budget very prudently and carefully. "Therefore, those outside the state budget must be moved. Back again, investment," said the President. On the occasion, the President also gave his appreciation to the ministries, institutions, provinces, districts and cities that received the 2021 Investment Service Award, both investment realization and licensing matters. The President hopes that all parties can continue to provide the best service so that it is easier for investors to invest in Indonesia. "We don't necessarily serve well, investors will come, let alone not be served. Provide the best service, be it small, medium, and large investors. Serve all well," said the President.
