Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said the realization of investment in 2022 is targeted at Rp 1,200 trillion. This big target aims to boost national economic growth to be above the 5 percent range. "Rp 1,200 trillion is one of the requirements for how to boost our national economic growth above 5 percent. Indeed, this is not an easy job because it must increase by around 22 percent-33 percent. And this must be done extraordinary massive work," he said at the event. Bahlil revealed that the investment realization target in 2022 as stated in the 2020-2024 RPJMN is IDR 968.4 trillion. However, President Jokowi gave special directions so that investment could be boosted with a target of Rp 1,200 trillion. An increase in investment realization by 22 percent to 33 percent is needed so that next year's economic growth of 5.4 percent to 6 percent can be achieved. Although the target is set high, Bahlil admits that he is optimistic that he can achieve it. This is because of the experience that has been passed in 2021 and the downstream efforts that are being carried out by the government at this time. "I have confidence that with experience in 2021, with a combination of downstream sectors, God willing, it will be achieved," he added.
Furthermore, Bahlil revealed a number of strategies that were carried out to be able to achieve these targets. At least, there are five steps taken by the Ministry of Investment / BKPM to facilitate investors while increasing investment realization. First, apart from promoting, the institution will convince investors that Indonesia is an "investment-friendly" country. Especially with the issuance of the Job Creation Law which is claimed to provide transparency, efficiency, speed and certainty in managing permits. "In the past, BKPM relied on promotions, now we change the strategy. Apart from promoting, we convince investors that our country has changed," he said. The second strategy, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM will assist licensing services. Then, the institution will also assist in the financial closing process if needed. Bahlil also ensured that his party would provide end-to-end services to investors until investment realization. Assistance is also given not only to construction but also to production." If there is a disturbance, the land is not clear or what the problem is, we will help until it is produced. So it is end-to-end. Why are we doing this? Because the state will get a multiplier effect when the company is in production. If it's only for construction, not for production, the state can't get anything optimally, "he explained.
