Indonesia has a number of mainstay commodities from agricultural, mining and plantation products. Quoting from the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), the mainstay commodity is the product or service that is the main attraction. This means that the commodity (product or service) has an important position and is widely traded. The following are Indonesia's mainstay commodities from agricultural, mining and plantation products, namely:

• Rubber
Is Indonesia's mainstay commodity from agricultural and plantation products. Rubber is the most frequently exported export commodity, such as the United States and the People's Republic of China.

• Palm oil
Palm oil is Indonesia's mainstay commodity from agricultural and plantation products. This commodity is often exported to India and the People's Republic of China.

• Cocoa
Cocoa and products made from cocoa are Indonesia's mainstay commodities. Cocoa is often exported to other countries, such as the United States and Malaysia.

• Coffee
Included in one of Indonesia's mainstay commodities. Most of the coffee production is exported to the United States and Germany.

Indonesia's leading commodities from mining are:

• Coal
According to Anggun Purizza Putry in the journal Strategy to Increase China's Market Share to Become the Main Destination Country for Indonesian Coal Exports, 2008-2011 (2014), coal is Indonesia's mainstay commodity from mining products.

• Copper
Besides coal, copper is also one of Indonesia's mainstay commodities from mining products. One of the reasons is the availability of copper which is very abundant in Indonesia.

• Bauxite
Bauxite is also Indonesia's mainstay commodity from mining products. According to Gamal Komandoko in the book Student and General Encyclopedia (2010), bauxite is an ore of aluminum. Several bauxite mines in Indonesia are Bintan Island and Bangka Belitung.

• Nickel
Nickel is Indonesia's mainstay commodity from mining. The abundance of nickel in Indonesia is the main reason why this mining product has become one of the mainstay commodities from Indonesia.
