This was conveyed by Angela while attending the Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2021 at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Central Jakarta, Thursday (18/11/2021). "This is a real step to realize Indonesia as a center for world halal products, as well as encourage national economic growth through the development of the Muslim fashion industry and halal cosmetics in local and global markets," said Angela. Angela added that Indonesia is a potential market for the Muslim fashion industry. Considering that Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, which is around 231 million people or equivalent to 13 percent of the world's Muslim population.
"In addition, the number of millennials and generation Z in Indonesia also dominates at 53 percent, so that with a large and young Muslim population, there are huge opportunities for the growth of the Muslim creative industry, including the fashion industry," said Angela, who is also the Chairperson of the Party's DPP. Angela also invited Muslim fashion actors to immediately adapt to the digitalization process in transacting and marketing their products. Because during the Covid-19 pandemic, the challenge facing the Muslim fashion industry is the ability to adapt more quickly to digital transactions. "Throughout 2020, digital trade transactions in Indonesia have reached more than Rp. 253 trillion and are expected to increase to Rp. 330.7 trillion in 2021. The arrival of various consumer demands, both domestic and global, will definitely be greatly influenced by technology, so we need to use technology to increase value. adding products and business efficiency, so that we can provide the best works and solutions for the community," said Angela. The event was filled with fashion shows featuring 36 well-known Muslim fashion brands and discussions on the development of fashion in Indonesia.
