The DKI Jakarta Provincial Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP) through the Jakarta Investment Center Management Unit (JIC) collaborates with the Jakarta Experience Board (PT. Jakarta Tourisindo) to hold the 2021 Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) with the theme “Strengthening the Post-Pandemic Economy Through Collaboration". JIF 2021 will be held virtually through the Zoom webinar application and broadcast live via the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Youtube account. The activity will last for 2 (two) consecutive days on the 11th to the d. 12 November 2021 next. The purpose of holding JIF 2021 is to promote DKI Jakarta as an investment-friendly city as well as a city of collaboration as a government strategy in economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Head of DKI Jakarta Provincial DPMPTSP, Benni Aguscandra explained that the 2021 Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) is an investment business forum initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to open more investment opportunities and collaboration between the government, the private sector and other business entities. This collaboration is expected to be a stimulus for the realization of a significant increase in investment, especially in infrastructure development based on a sustainable development plan. He also said the increasingly controlled Covid-19 pandemic situation in Jakarta was the right momentum to restore economic conditions and improve the fiscal situation in Jakarta through investment schemes. "Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) 2021 is a form of effort by the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPMPTSP through the JIC Management Unit as a forum that will facilitate potential investors to see investment opportunities in various sectors in Jakarta. We hope that with the increased realization of investment in Jakarta, we can restructure and restore economic conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic," said Benni at the Press Conference Virtual Jakarta Investment Forum 2021 (9/11/2021).
Since it was inaugurated by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Rasyid Baswedan in 2018, JIC has facilitated many potential investors from various sectors such as waste management, infrastructure and development, transportation, tourism and so on. In addition to assisting investors to conduct one on one meetings with project owners, Benni said JIC can also provide assistance/assistance to Domestic Investors and Foreign Investors in terms of ease of investing in Jakarta. "JIC is a strategic partner for business actors to find out potential projects in Jakarta, the investment value of each project and connect business actors with development companies, to provide assistance or assistance in managing licensing and non-licensing related investments, with the hope that business actors can make realization of investment in Jakarta," added Benni. Benni further explained that JIF 2021 will begin with a main talk show with the theme Urban Sustainability: Strengthening the Post-Pandemic Economy through Collaboration by presenting international and national speakers.
The focus of the discussion discussed was related to actions, programs and implementation of policies carried out by the Central and Regional Governments in economic recovery, planning to increase business collaboration activity programs through investment schemes, urban development planning based on case studies, and investment challenges at the local level, national and international. “JIF 2021 will be followed by a special session for investors, namely Meet The Leaders, which provides an opportunity for investors to have direct discussions with policy makers regarding investment in various sectors such as health, transportation, tourism, property, and urban planning as well as discuss collaboration opportunities to encourage sustainable urban development,” concluded Benni.
Collaboration to Restore the Economy after the Covid-19 Pandemic
Meanwhile, the President Director of the Jakarta Experience Board (PT Jakarta Tourisindo), Novita Dewi, supports the provincial government's efforts. DKI Jakarta in continuing development and economic recovery by facilitating the virtual implementation of JIF 2021. The JIF 2021 will be opened by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, who is also enlivened by the presence of national and international figures including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan; Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo; Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan; Minister of Investment/ Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia and; Representative of the World Bank Director for Indonesia and Timor Leste. JIF 2021 will strengthen investment collaboration through the Investment Signing Collaboration Commitment. The collaboration of the parties is expected to be a stimulus for the realization of a significant increase in investment, especially in infrastructure development based on a sustainable development plan.
JIF 2021 will be followed by a Plenary Discussion session which will present strategic themes, including: Urban Sustainability will discuss related actions, programs and policy implementation by the Central and Regional Governments in economic recovery through business collaboration and existing investment opportunities. Urban Health will present a discussion about policies or actions taken by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in encouraging collaboration opportunities in the health sector. Urban Mobility will focus on discussing the ongoing efforts of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in providing more adequate public transportation and connecting all public facilities in the city's economic center, business potential and investment in the development of rail-based transportation and its impact on economic productivity. Finally, Urban Tourism will discuss how the government's efforts to reopen investment opportunities specifically for the tourism sector in Jakarta, the role of the digital industry in promoting local tourism in Jakarta and potential business opportunities for the private sector and financial institutions to participate in urban tourism development.
Networking Session is a discussion session that can be accessed by investors to dig deeper information related to the projects being offered. Investors will be divided into separate virtual rooms so that investors can directly register for the session of the project they are interested in. Previously DPMPTSP DKI Jakarta Province together with the Jakarta Experience Board for several weeks had held JIF Class activities which were a series of JIF 2021 Pre-Event events. This event was held to provide education about the world of investment, property, architecture, and others with the concept of a webinar presenting various resource persons who are competent and experienced in their fields including the Head of BKPM for the 2016-2019 period, Tom Lembong; Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore; H.E Suryo Pratomo; Executive Director of the Jakarta Property Institute, Wendy Haryanto; President Director of PT. Jakarta Transit Integration, Aidin Barlean and; Urban+ founder, Ardzuna Sinaga.
